Happy Birthday Edna St. Vincent Millay

Today is the birthday of my favorite poet, Edna St. Vincent Millay. I couldn't let today go by without a post to wish her happy birthday and tell you, my unforgettable readers, the top five reasons I love her poetry.

Her sly humor that connects to her audience.
How she directly addresses her audience.
The meaningful metaphors contained in her work.
The simplicity in her word choice that creates larger meanings.
The way she makes me laugh whenever I read her poems.

I hope everyone is having a great wednesday and reads the poem
"Childhood Is The Kingdom Where Nobody Dies" by Edna St. Vincent Millay.

  1. Childhood is the Kingdom where no one dies. It sounds bitter sweet. I will look it up. Thanks for the info!
